Society for Oral Laser application is formed with an aim to impart dental Laser education and to work for the advancement of knowledge, research, education and exchange of information related to Laser in
Dentistry. The society includes among its members: Clinicians, Academicians and
Researchers using all Laser wavelengths. Our membership also includes commercial manufacturers of Laser, Laser accessories and other high-tech products.
It has successfully hosted International conference in Mumbai in 2006 and National Conference in February 2008 at Bangalore. Both events had more than 250 registered delegates. There were faculty from Europe & US. Today we are a proud body of 350 life members and 10 corporate members.
Why Join SOLA ? Few years back Lasers in Dentistry were marketed by dealers. The knowledge and clinical applications were guided by the manufacturers with more emphasis on their own products rather than the Science behind it. There was no standard programme to impart Laser education. The only one which was well oriented was taught at Vienna under ageies of ESOLA (now SOLA international.) One had to spend time & money to get educated in Laser applications. Those who solely depended on Manufacturer's manuals to try on their patients faced a lot of hardships and felt Laser had no advantage over conventional Dentistry. Thus SOLA India was given shape and structure in India in late 2005 and was registered in January 2006 at Pune by our Founder President Dr. Naresh Thukral supported by Dr. Nilesh Patel, Dr. Anil Shah, Dr. Vivek Hegde, Dr. Mohan Vakade & Dr. Rajesh Dhirawani. Society for Oral Laser Applications was initiated to start structured Dental Laser training in India.
